Handball in the veins
COLLABORATIONS WITH ENTITIES
I am from Madrid, but Alicante from adoption, and above all, an inhabitant of the planet HANDBALL. For this, I developed many facets of my life, and I am specializing in analysis game.
HOME AS A SPORTSMAN
My first contact with this sport was six years old, and I was lucky to meet the best. It coincided with the golden age of C.B. CALPISA, and that aroused my passion for this sport. Over time and from experience, I understood that the only way to improve is the pursuit of excellence.
As a player, I developed my training stage in one of the reference schools in Spain, San Agustín school in Alicante, is one of the founding members of the CD Agustinos. At that time, we got the first Spanish Championship for the entity.
When I finished my youth stage, I joined C.D. Cajamadrid, becoming the first player in the school to sign for a team outside the city. It allowed me to study Physical Education and enjoy as a player the participation in the World Youth Championship held in Finland on behalf of Spain. At the end of the studies I returned to Alicante to sign for C.B. Helados Alacant, then by C.B Altea and, I finished my stage as a player where I started, in C.D. Agustinos
COACH AND TEACHER
In my last years as a player, I started my facet as a coach in the C.D. Agustinos, achieving the SCHOOL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in youth category, the most significant sporting success of the club.
That achievement encouraged me to train my first senior teams, getting three promotions to the second Spanish national category with three different clubs.
I have always believed that the only way to improve is continuous training. Therefore, at the time, I decided to do the Doctorate to seek new knowledge. As a result of this research need, I presented in 2006 my Doctoral Thesis “Assessment of tactical performance in handball through efficiency coefficients”, obtaining for it the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
My incorporation to the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the Miguel Hernández University, as a professor of Handball and Fundamentals of Technology and Tactics, facilitated an intense research work. As a result of this work, I was able to publish several research articles, in addition to participating in conferences in countries as varied as Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Austria, Lithuania, Croatia, England or Japan.
In parallel, since 2010, I joined the National School of Coaches of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, as a teacher, where I continue to teach today.
IN THE NATIONAL SELECTION
Product of my Doctoral Thesis developed one of the first programs that appeared in the specific market for tactical handball analysis. Thanks to that work, I joined the Spanish team as a tactical analyst with one of the best coaches in our country, Juan Carlos Pastor. A great teacher for me.
They were years of professional fullness that allowed me to apply my knowledge in significant world events with the prize of the silver medal in the Championships of Europe of 2006 and, especially, with the bronze medal in the Olympic Games of Beijing in 2008.
The pressure of the high competition and the rigor demanded by the analyzes at this level, allowed me to complete my knowledge acquired for years.
